    Let me know how this looks to you guys.

    1. Chimi -> Raid -> Durka -> Raid -> Cariben -> Raid -> Typh -> Raid -> Expo -> Boss
    2. Chimi -> Raid -> Durka -> Raid -> Uladaric -> Raid -> Expo -> Boss
    3. Chimi -> Raid -> Durka -> Raid -> Kaokian -> Raid -> Expo -> Boss
    4. Chimi -> Raid -> Durka -> Boss ***dead***

    Im thinking this is what we are going to go with. Our previous strat is working except im concerned about healer mana issues. We're not changing anything other than this.

    Requires the rogues to come to the raid spec'd into Cheat Death and the mages must have cauterize and Chimi you will need to be glyphed into Dispersion. Please spread the word and make sure our soakers are ready come Thursday. ( please let me know what you think )

    I recommend swapping Cariben and Durka for the first bounce set, since I don't know if he can live through the bounce with 5 stacks.

    Aside from that, it looks great to me. Especially the ***dead*** part.

    It should work well. We may want to consider swapping myself and cariben since I outgear him by a good bit and we would get more raid dps from the swap atm. We should also both glyph dispersion, it's a tricky encounter, and having a backup if someone dies will be needed.

    I recommend we put the rogue(s) on either the beginning or the end, so they don't waste too much time running in and out trying to get in position for the orb.

    What about....

    1. Cariben -> Raid -> Chimi -> Raid -> Durka -> Raid -> Expo -> Raid -> Ula -> Boss
    2. Chimi -> Raid -> Durka -> Raid -> Expo -> Raid -> Kao -> Boss
    3. Chimi -> Raid -> Durka -> Raid -> Expo -> Raid -> Ula -> Boss
    4. Chimi -> Raid -> Durka -> Boss ***dead***

    This way Typh can stay combat and keep up his DPS (Cheat Death is a DPS loss), and rogues can run out after the next-to-last bounce, when they'd normally be running out anyway. This frontloads the dispersions (less healing needed) and puts the death-saving mechanics on the end.

    We could conceivably use a single rogue for every black phase (CD is 90s, phases are roughly 2m), but having backup is better.

    Another thing we might want to consider (I don't recommend we attempt it tonight)...

    I read a whole thread about H Zon'ozz 25, with a lot of good tips from the Immersion group that we learned our most recent soak strategy from.

    Instead of making 4 mixed groups, they split the room half-and-half along the line between the Claws. Next to one of the claws on the "back" side (opposite entrace) of the room, they put all the ranged DPS... they were within range of both flails and 3/4 eyes on that side... once they killed all of those eyes, they all ran to kill the last eye, and then DPS the claw(s) that remain.

    The melee split into two groups on the other side of the room (entrance side), each kill a flail, then the 2 eyes closest to their flail. They then move to the claw they're closest to (each melee group moves towards a different claw).

    Apparently this keeps the grouping much tighter, and allows more use of AoE heals during the black phase, which takes a lot of the burden off the healers in that phase.

    For rogues, this is the best approximation of the Sub spec I could concoct for Cheat Death. It's a DPS loss, but shouldn't be too stringent.

    Update to our strat:

    We're looking at a 7-7-7-5 bounce pattern. With Expo available, we'll do something like this:

    1. Pael -> Raid -> Cariben -> Raid -> Expo -> Raid -> Durka -> BOSS
    2. Ula -> Raid -> Cariben -> Raid -> Expo -> Raid -> Durka -> BOSS
    3. Pael -> Raid -> Cariben -> Raid -> Expo -> Raid -> Durka -> BOSS
    4. Cariben -> Raid -> Expo -> Raid -> Durka -> BOSS

    After the third black phase, Paelynii will taunt Esp's claw as soon as his is dead, and Esp will move the boss to the center of the room. Cariben will take position for the first bounce. DPS will ensure they're on Cariben's side as soon as the orb spawns so Esp can spin. Once Durka runs out, Esp will turn 90 degrees to the side, and the raid will move to the far-back side of the boss at maximum melee range. The orb will hit the boss and the 4th black phase will begin.

    Heroism should be used 30s before enrage and DPS should blow all CDs when the 4th black phase begins.

    Now that we got our kill, I want to post a few things that worked and/or didn't work so we can refine for future kills:

    Bounce rotation: We again went with a 9-7-7-3 rotation, with the last bounce timed to avoid multiple spread ticks of Disrupting Shadows.

    1. Pael->Cariben->Kimjon->Durka->Ula (delay) -> BOSS (9)
    2. Kao->Cariben->Durka->Ula->BOSS (7)
    3. Pael->Cariben->Durka->Ula->BOSS (7)
    4. Cariben->Durka-> BOSS (3)

    Melee distribution: Ideally, if we're not balanced, we're going to want the Blue/Red side to be the "melee heavy" side of the room. This will allow the melee to have less required movement to get back onto the boss, nuke the claw, and allow Esp to return the boss to center.

    Boss DPS: We had Typh focused on Zon'ozz the entire fight. This allowed increased damage done on Zon'ozz himself, as well as pre-emptive cleaving on the Blue/Red claw... if we increase this damage on the claw, we will eventually have the option to have Esp move to the center well before the orb spawns... reducing necessary movement and increasing boss DPS.

    Communication: One of our strongest attempts in respect to communication. During the "normal" phases, emphasis is on bouncers (order and dispel requests) and tank CDs. During the black ooze phases, emphasis is on healer and tank 4pc cooldowns. Extremely good communication allowed us to adapt to difficulties quickly.

    Some areas for improvement:

    While it was one of our cleanest attempts in regards to bouncing, we could still group a little better for the bounces. We had one death of a person outside the group, and a few hunters that were outside the AoE heals range... if we tighten this up a bit better we can make it easier on our healers.

    Positioning: If the blue/red DPS can get the claw down faster on their side, it will allow Esp to transition the boss to center, which will increase overall raid dps throughout the phases.

    Attendance/downtime: It was a patch day, and that got us a slow start, but we also had quite a lot of downtime between pulls. It seemed we had a large number of wipes where one or two people were constantly slow getting back for the next pull... all this time adds up, and we likely lost 30-40 minutes in just waiting time between wipes.

    All in all a good (and overdue) kill... everyone there had to push themselves to the limits to get the kill, and quite a few of our members ranked on WoL. Good job, everyone... now let's kill Ultrax!
