The other day I was talking to someone about the scale of this game and how much that contributes to how great the game can be. That being said back before the expansions started rolling in what I enjoyed the most was finding and getting places most people didn’t get to, aka exploration. Now, although people still look for new places to get to it has lost a lot of its appeal as you can fly everywhere (north of EPL excluded) now. However, one thing blizzard are always good at is hiding things in plain sight. Chances are you have seen loads of these before however, you would be surprised by the amount of people that don’t know about these small, pointless but awesome finds. Also, leave your own finds in the comments section, I would love to see more!
This is a memorial to a former employee of Blizzard, I have seen information of this in the past but cant seem to find it now! Typical.
The Shrine of the Fallen Warrior is a memorial to Michel Koiter, a Blizzard employee who died during the development of World of Warcraft. The base of the stone obelisk is engraved with the initials “MK” and the orc is an exact copy of Koiter’s beta character: “twincruiser”. Floating in front of the Shrine is a spirit healer named Koiter.
This is in Dalaran sewers, down where all the PvP vendors sit.

This is a very old one, and I actualy had trouble getting it to work making me think it may have been removed. You used to /chicken at a chicken in Westfall until it looked at you with a puzzled look. You could then take a quest to give it some chicken feed and it would pop out an egg. When picked up and used it gave you a companion pet.

Dont think you can get a game without a lost refference these days, so of course WoW needs one aswell. This is found in the North West of Sholozar.
I only found this one today, chances are its for a quest but if not its just another one to add to the list. Its in Thunderbluff and is majorly out of place.
And trust me, there are lots, lots more than this. Like the The help sign in Thunder Bluff, Mario and Luigi in Unguro, The smiley face under Karazhan, Forest Gump references, King of Stormwind (think he has gone now though) and many more!!
